Snowball Relay Race
Supplies: Styrofoam balls (miniature) or
Cotton Balls and bucket for each team. Set up: Mark a starting line and finish
line about 10 ft apart. Place the bucket for each team on the finish
line. Teams line up on the starting line. Foam balls or cotton balls for
each team are spread out between the lines. Prior to the party you need to
make sure there are enough snowballs for each
team. You can tell them to count (for example 25 balls to win or you can
mark a line in the pail, first team to fill their bucket to the line wins.
How To Play: Divide into teams. The
object is to fill your teams bucket with snowballs first. Each child takes a
turn to place a snowball in their pail, then runs back to the end of their
team line, continuing until their pail is full to the line or contains a
certain number of snowballs. First team to finish
wins. You can take this outdoors
and use real snow if you have a good snow base. Instead of using foam
balls the kids have to make a snowball and then put it in their team
bucket. |
Pass the snowball - Play
like Hot Potato, but pass an oversized foam ball to some fun Winter
music.
Pin
the Carrot on the Snowman -
Use a real snowman or create a paper
snowman or use a snowman cutout.
For the real snowman, use mini carrots
and see who can get it closest.
For a cutout snowman, make little carrot shapes from paper or
foam craft. Number the carrot
game pieces or write each guests name on them to easily see who's carrot
is closest. The closest to the original nose position wins. Snowflake
Hunt - Prior to the party make pairs of paper snowflakes, enough pairs
for each guest. Make sure the designs are distinct enough tell
apart. Before your guest arrive, hide snowflakes around the party
room or just hang them on the walls for decorations. Put the
remaining snowflakes in a bag. Have each guest pick a snowflake. After
everyone has a snowflake, tell them they must find their matching
snowflake in the room. The first to find his/her match wins!
Tip: To make it harder for older kids, cut out additional snowflakes
without a matching pair, so there are more to compare against. |
