Set the tone of your room by decorating your walls with scene setters from graveyards to silhouettes.

In the main party room add some ceiling danglers or garland.

If you are limited to one room,  then you can section off one or all corners to be a different scene. Here are some ideas:

        Graveyard

        Haunted forest

        Mad Scientist Lab

        Dungeon

        Spider Web

        Bat Cave

        Blood Scene

If you can spread your party to multiple rooms, then make each room a different scene. Here are some ideas.

Hallways - Haunted Forest, Bat Cave  or Spider Alley.

Kitchen - How about a

Hell's Kitchen with devilish treats for your guest. Use devil picks, skull punch bowl, cemetery terror platter  or bloody goblets. Don't forget the bloody knife, Flaming Cauldron and these cardboard Red Flames Set/6 for the walls.

Guest Bedroom, Parlor, Sitting Room - "Never the Bride" Suite with a skeleton bride.  Add a peeling plaster scene to the walls with some Ethereal Ghosts

Bar - Mad Scientist Lab     with brains, mad scientist spooky specimens,  pulsating heart and LEDs.

 Bone Chillers

Don't forget to add some Bone Chillers to your drinks!

Temperature Controlled Red/Blue LED Faucet Light Bathroom - Bloody Scene   or Water torture Room (leave the tub or sink dripping).  Cover the door with bloody door cover.  Add the bloody wall border around the bathroom.  Use the "GET OUT" mirror grabber. Turn the faucet water red with

a Temperature Controlled Red/Blue LED Faucet Light.

Plastic Skeleton pieces;light-up skull-Halloween cemetary
Front yard - Create an area for your cemetery in the front yard. Add Cemetery Fence Set/2 to enclose the graveyard.  Start with tombstones and spider webs.  Add several any of these graveyard extremes:

Garages or Unfinished

Basements are good for

dungeons. Use the stone wall scene setter.  Add some eyes, haunted signs and hanging skeletons to the wall.  Don't forget the shackles!

Dining Room - Skeleton

Fun Party Foods

Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

Ingredients

Pumpkin Seeds

¼ cup Vegetable Cooking Oil

Salt

Directions: Wash and drain seeds in lukewarm water. Pour vegetable oil on a large cookie sheet.  Spread seeds on the sheet, coating them well with oil.  Bake in a oven at 350°, until seeds are lightly brown ( approx. 8-10 minutes).  Remove, drain on paper towels and sprinkle them with salt as desired.  Store seeds in a airtight container.

Mummy's Eyes

Ingredients

6 hard boiled eggs

¼ cup plus 2 tbs. mayonnaise

3/4 paprika

6 pimento-stuffed green olives

salt

Directions:  Cut through hard cooked eggs about 1/3 of the way from the tip, just enough to scoop out yolk.  Place cooked yolk in a bowl and mash with a fork.  Cut just enough of the other end of the egg to create a flat surface to stand the egg on.  Stir in mayonnaise, paprika and salt to taste.  Mix thoroughly and fill egg white eye socket with mixture.  Smooth top of yolk mixture.  Press olive into yolk mixture so pimento is facing out.  Serve upright.

Pea-nutty Pumpkin Spread

Ingredients

1 1/2 cup solid-pack pumpkin

1/2 cup peanut butter

2 T. honey
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon

2 T. chopped peanuts (optional)

Carrot, celery sticks, apple slices

Directions: Combine pumpkin, peanut butter, honey and cinnamon; mix well. Chill. Top with nuts before serving (optional).  Serve with vegetable sticks and apple slices. Makes one cup.

Finger Cookies

These Witches Finger Cookies were a hit at my last party. I used an urn filled with small dry beans (also try rice) and covered with crumbled chocolate cookies to look like dirt. Then stood cookies upright  in urn. (Source: Martha Stewart).

Ingredients

Cookie Dough:

1 cup butter, softened

1 cup sugar

1 egg

1 tsp. almond extract

1 tsp. vanilla extract

2 ¾ cup flour

1 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. salt

OR for those who don't' have a lot of time, use refrigerated cookie dough

¾ cup whole blanched almonds

red food coloring

red decorator gel

new small artist brush

Directions:  Preheat oven to 325°F.  Lightly grease your cookie sheet.  To make cookie dough, mix dry ingredients in a bowl.  In a separate large bowl, beat together butter, sugar, egg, almond and vanilla extracts.

Gradually add dry ingredients and blend.  Cover and refrigerate dough for 30 minutes, this will make it easier to shape the cookie dough.

Work with a ¼ of the cookie dough at a time, leaving the remaining chilled in the refrigerator.  Take about a full teaspoon of cookie dough and shape into a finger. You can get creative and draw knuckle lines and even a cut mark on the finger.  Once shaped, press an almond firmly onto the finger for the nail.  Using the artist brush paint the almond with red dye, giving a painted fingernail look.  Continue making cookies to fill cookie sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes ( or according to packaged refrigerator dough).  Let cool a few minutes.

If you desire, you can add red decorator gel to create a bloody finger look.  You can gently lift almond and put gel underneath giving the appearance of oozing blood from the nail. Or if you marked a cut on the finger, then add the gel for oozing blood.

Kitty Litter Cake - You will find this recipe in many places on the net.  Though it looks gross, it was quite tasty. It took a little coaxing from me (the hostess) to get the guest to try it.  Click on my photo for a closer look.  I made mine from a recipe found on Fabulousfoods.com.

Directions:Mix all ingredients in a large bowl, serve in a witches cauldron or large green bowl.

Bat Wings - Place chicken wings in a barbeque sauce and bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes.

Witches' Brew - Add green food coloring to lemonade.  Place in a punch bowl or witches cauldron.  Freeze some gummy worms in ice cubes and simply add the ice cubes.  Makes a howling good thirst quencher!
