Invitation Ideas

Make a Tea Cup/Tea Bag

Dollies Strawberry Shortcake

Craft your own teacup w/teabag invitation.

Supplies - Pink paper (card stock)

               White paper

               Kite string

               Marker

               Glue

               Decorative bead

                (optional)

Create a teacup template (use mine below or make your own), between 4 and 5 inches big.  Fold pink card stock in half. Trace teacup pattern with bottom of cup on fold onto pink cardstock. Cut out teacup. You can leave the handle uncut in the middle and draw in the handle.  Glue all open sides leaving a 2 inch opening at the top of the tea cup.  Now cut small 2x2" squares on white paper which will be your teabag.  Make sure the squares will fit in the opening you left on the top of the tea cup.  Write all party information on front

(use backside if necessary).  Cut a 4 inch piece of kite string, tape to the back of white square. Stick the square in the tea cup leaving the string hanging out.  You can add a decorative bead to the end of the bag. Your guest will pull the teabag string to read all about your fun party.

GAME IDEAS

Miss Manner Says

Find the Hankie

Pass the Hat

Played like the game Simon Says. Have girls do nice things and them throw in a silly thing like  "burp".  See who forgets their manners!     Prior to the start of the party, hind a small white lace hankie. Send your guest off to find it. You also have the girls follow clues to discover where the hankie was lost.  Pass a dainty hat around in a circle to soft music. If you are holding the hat when the music stops, you must bow out gracefully.

Tea Cup Tower

Sugar Cube Relay

More Games
Divide your guest into teams. Give each team the same number of plastic tea cups and saucers or paper cups and paper dessert plates.  Let each team try to stack their tea cups. The team with highest stack wins!

Purchase sugar cubes and place in a bowl with one spoon. Find over sized tea cups or use plastic tea cups for this relay.  Divide guest into 2-3 teams.  Set a start and end line.  At the start place the bowl of sugar cubes and spoon.  At the finish line place the tea cup.

The race is to transfer all of your sugar cubes to the oversized tea cup by using  the spoon.  Each team member gets a chance, if the sugar cube falls off the spoon the player must go back and start over. First team to move all their sugar cubes wins!

Activities

Opening Party Craft

 Dress Up Time

Manners Session

Start your party with an opening Craft Activity:

- Decorate mini white lace hats with ribbon, beads, satin flowers. Glue on a satin ribbon to the back of the hat to create a door knob hanger.

- Decorate white or light solid color fans with feathers, gems and markers.

- Decorate foam craft tea pots magnets (precut before party) with markers, gems, glitter glue, etc.

- Decorate White Lace Placemats with markers, satin flowers, sequences, etc.

After craft time let your guest fancy themselves up in a corner with extra dress up items like boas, scarves, costume jewelry, tiaras, etc.

Set up a make-up corner that is adult supervised. Add a little face glitter, rouge to the cheeks and lipstick or lip gloss for each guest.

Take photos of each guest.

If using a digital, see if someone else can print them off while you continue with the party. Then put a photo of each guest in a Tea Party Foam Photo Frames (4 count) for a take home party favor.

Manner sessions - spend a few minutes with the girls at the tea table explaining how to hold a tea cup, if using a spoon for adding sugar, you only dip once into the sugar bowl, stir gently and lay spoon on saucer.  Also,

teach them how to ask for items and how to pass them around the table.  Don't forget to add the "Darling, please pass the sugar"  to the session.
