www.PartyShelf.com

General Information: This tea party combines the fun of dressing up with your favorite

Teddy Bear.  For this party asks your guest to dress up and bring along their favorite

Teddy Bear.  This party can be varied for some of our favorite bears listed below:

    Pooh Tea Party

    Tea with Little Bear

Bear in the Big Blue House Tea Party

    Paddington Bear Tea Party

    Corduroy Bear Tea Party

    Care Bear Tea Party

INVITATION IDEAS

Craft an Invitation

Pretty In Pink Care Bear

Craft an invitation using blank cards found at the craft stores and decorate them with teddy bear and tea cup stickers.  Or try some fun stamping.   You could make a large card and a small tiny card for your guest's bears.

Room Decor

More Ideas

Tea set  or search for tea cups at discount stores, garage sales, flea markets, antique stores, etc. Use dollies, your child's favorite color table cloth or the new Pretty In Pink pattern.

If you like flowers, try the Petite Floral pattern, it's dainty enough for a tea party.

For your Care Bear Tea Party, we carry a complete line for your table settings.

Set up two tables, one for your guest, and another mini table for all the teddy bears.  It will be much easier for the girls to eat without having to hold their teddy bears.  Or just put a picnic blanket on the floor or grass for the Teddy Bears to sit at.

Roll utensils in napkins and ties with curling ribbons or create a fan fold and place them on the plates.

Place a decorated tea pot with a small bear clip on it's handle for your centerpiece.  Or a Bear holding a tea cup. Secure the tea cup through the handle with  ribbon. Tie some balloons on the hand of the bear.

Balloons in various colors to match your theme can be tied to the back of the table chairs or tied to other stuff bears around the room.

Use cute teddy bear posters or cut out teddy bear shapes different sizes from brown construction paper and hang around the room. If your going with the Care Bear theme, cut out bear shapes in different colors and add clouds, hearts, suns, etc. to match the different Care Bears.

GAME IDEAS

Pass the Teddy Bear

Where's My Teddy?

Pin the Heart on Teddy

Pass the Teddy Bear - Pass a teddy bear ( an extra one) around in a circle to soft music.  If your holding the bear when the music stops, you bow out  gracefully.

Take all the guest's teddy bears and hide them around the party room or  outside around the yard.  Have the guest go on a hunt to find their missing bear.

Pin the Heart on the Teddy - Cut out a large brown teddy bear from construction paper. Using a black permanent marker, create a dotted outline of where the heart should be on the Teddy Bear Cutout.  Now cut out small red hearts from red constructions paper and  number them.  Give each guest a chance to be blind folded, spun around and try to pin the heart on the teddy.

Piñata
Use our dainty Birthday Cake Piñata.

Teddy bear, teddy bear,

Turn around.
Teddy bear, teddy bear,

Touch the ground.
Teddy bear, teddy bear,

Shine your shoes.
Teddy bear, teddy bear,

Skidoo.

Teddy bear, teddy bear,

Go upstairs.
Teddy bear, teddy bear,

Say your prayers.
Teddy bear, teddy bear,

Turn out the light.

Teddy bear, teddy bear,

Say good night.

             or

I'm A Little Teapot

(music copyright 1939

Kelman Music)

I'm a little teapot short and stout;

(stick your tummy out and pretend

 you are very short)

Here is my handle

(place your hand on your hip,

so your arm is a handle)

And here is my spout.

(Bend your other arm and hand

like a spout)

When I get all steamed up,

then I shout:

Just tip me over and pour me out!

(Bend over and pretend you are

pouring out your tea!)

Teddy Bear Story Time

Manner Session

Read a Teddy Bear Story Book ( see links at bottom of page).

Spend a few minutes with the girls at the tea table explaining how to hold a tea cup, if using  a spoon for adding sugar, you only dip once into the sugar bowl, stir gently and lay spoon on saucer.  Also, teach them how to ask for items and how to pass them around the table.  Have fun exaggerating with lines like "Darling, please pass the....." to the session.
